The 22nd May saw members of the Campaign for Wool including our own Christine Armstrong, Celebrating the 70th birthday of their patron HRH the Prince of Wales Birthday in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.
Over 6500 guest from organisations, charities and public services with whom Prince Charles has been involved for over 40 years joined in the celebrations which began at 4pm and included music and afternoon tea.
The newly married Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their first public appearance, with a touching speech by Harry who made the point that the day, for once was all about his father, who does so much in support of others without taking any glory for himself
Of the afternoon Christine said “It was an honour to be asked to attend, The Prince of Wales is a tremendous character who gives so much of his time to support not only the Campaign for Wool but many other organisations. I thought Harry’s speech was a great tribute to Prince Charles, and it was lovely to feel that we were a small part of the celebrations and to see him so relaxed with members of his family around him.”
