'Thermafleece is a fantastic innovation and one which more than pays for itself through energy savings in a relatively short space of time' - Sarah Beeny, Rise hall
Rise Hall was built by architects Watson and Pritchett between 1815 and 1820 for the High Sheriff of Yorkshire, Richard Bethell. It remained the Bethell family seat until after the Second World War when it was leased to St Philomenas Convent School. After the school closed, the house stood empty and in an increasingly derelict state, until bought it in 2001 by Sarah Beeny and Graham Swift.
Both Sarah and Graham have a passion for British heritage and were excited not only about rescuing an important building but also creating a family home which has the capacity to host fabulous weddings and events.
