Established in 2005, Woolfest was the Brainchild of the late Carolyn Rawlinson who had ‘dreamt for years of creating a really big show celebrating wool, spinning, dyeing, knitting and all things associated with this wonderful part of the textile world.’
The weekend is all about creativity and design and offers a full programme of events and demonstrations from Spinning and felt making to printing and weaving
There will also be a sale of raw fleeces to be held in the main ring, together with shearing demonstrations and talks on rare breeds.
Woolfest - A treasure trove of natural fibres - is to be held at Mitchells Lakeland Livestock Centre, Cockermouth, Cumbria CA13 0QQ. Firday 23rd June 10am - 6pm and Saturday 24th June 10am – 5pm.
Woolfest won the Cumbria Tourism Event of the Year in 2012.
