The construction industry is the second largest user of plastic, with 20% of plastic waste coming from the construction sector. With the impacts and implications of the widespread use of plastics in the built environment just beginning to be understood it is time to find out more.

The ASBP and The Green Register are kicking of a series of events to investigate this topic with an afternoon of talks in Bristol on the 1st November where the panel will be discussing the impacts of plastics in the construction industry; how to design and measure the performance of healthy buildings; and giving updates on the latest embodied carbon and circular economy research and policy.

Guest speakers including Claire Wallerstein, co-founder of Rame Peninsula Beach Care who will be giving a talk on Plastic pollution and its effects on UK beaches, seas and wildlife,  will be in attendance and the afternoon ends with a panel and audience discussion on how to reduce plastic in the built environment.
