Passionate about sustainable construction

30th March 2016

Mike Wye & Associates, Natural and Sustainable Building and Decorating Specialists from Beaworthy in Devon are  passionate about sustainable and environmentally conscious construction. They have recently designed and built a timber framed building using many of the natural and sustainable systems which they supply, to showcase how natural and breathable products can be combined to the best effect in a new building.

Thermafleece CosyWool was installed extensively in the walls and ceilings with applicatons of cork and wood fibre insulation boards over the top. A breathable limecrete floor, straw bale infills into the timber frame and a ‘green’ roof were all used to showcase sustainable options for new buildings.

The building is to be used for training, meetings and as a functional space for other local businesses to use.

Mike Wye & Associates have supplied thousands of traditional building repair, renovation and ecobuild projects which include many prestigious national projects such as: The Queens Chapel at Buckingham Palace, The Royal Opera House, Windsor Castle, Ashton Court and Spitalfields Historic Buildings Trust.
