The 4th ASBP Healthy Buildings Conference and Expo is to be held Thursday 27th February at the Human Rights Action Centre, London, with This year's theme - 'Healthy Buildings in a Climate Emergency’
Chair of the Event is our own Mark Lynn (Thermafleece MD and Vice Chair of the ASBP) and this years Keynote speakers are Award-winning social entrepreneur and author Sam Conniff Allende and Mary Creagh, MP for Wakefield and Chair of the Environmental Audit Select Committee.
We are in the midst of a global climate emergency, recognised in the UK by Parliament and over 150 local authorities. Across the construction industry, over 700 organisations and counting have made declarations, including major architecture and engineering practices, universities and NGOs. But what are the next steps?
It’s clear that cross-sector collaboration is needed to develop a detailed and ambitious plan to address the climate emergency and help meet net zero targets for operational and embodied energy in buildings.
But what will this mean for our daily lives and how will this affect the way in which we design, construct, maintain and operate our buildings?
How do we change our behaviour as an industry, and will the climate emergency provide a once-in-a-generation opportunity for architects, designers and product manufacturers to raise their game en masse and change the way we live and work forever?
Join our own Mark Lynn (Vice Chair of the ASBP) and other inspirational speakers to discuss the radical, energy and resource efficient approaches that are required to address the climate crisis and deliver healthy, net zero buildings with better indoor environments.
Session 1: The way things are is not the way they have to be. - with keynote from Mary Creagh and exhibitors have 90 seconds to show how their products / services are low carbon and healthy!
